Our Story
Hera Aqua exists so no one has to feel stuck between hard water and impossible installation requirements.
It’s for families, renters, parents, and anyone who simply wants healthier skin, softer hair, and a better daily experience without the hassle of installing a water softener.
What began as a mum trying to protect her newborn has grown into a mission:
making soft water accessible for everyone, no matter where they live.
After a few years of living in UK's hard water region, I started getting eczema and brittle hair. When I became a mum in 2025, I wanted to do everything I could to prevent my baby from getting eczema and dry skin.
Traditional whole-house water softening systems weren’t an option for us. Because I was renting a flat, I couldn’t make permanent plumbing changes, and landlords simply don’t allow bulky installations. So I tried the next best thing—shower filters that claimed to soften water. But after some research and real-life testing, I discovered the truth: most of them don’t actually remove hardness minerals. They might reduce chlorine or improve water smell, but calcium and magnesium—the culprits behind dry skin—were still there.
It was frustrating. I just wanted a safe, gentle shower experience for my baby, but there was no real solution for people like me—renters, flat dwellers, or anyone who couldn’t install a traditional system.
So I started digging deeper. I learned about water chemistry, filtration technologies, and why the UK struggles so much with hard water. The more I researched, the clearer it became: Millions of families had the exact same problem… and no accessible solution.
Instead of accepting it, I decided to fix it.
I began designing what I wished existed—an effective, compact, wall-mounted water softening unit that didn’t require plumbing changes, landlord permission, or a full-house installation. Something that genuinely reduces hardness minerals and helps protect sensitive skin, whether you’re a new parent like me or someone who just wants gentler water for daily life.
And that’s how Hera Aqua was born.
