Maintenance

To keep your water softener performing at its best, regenerate the cartridge every 2–4 weeks using salt and water. Under normal water conditions, the cartridge can last up to 2 years.

Regeneration Steps
  1. Prepare the regeneration tank – Fill the tank with tap water.
  2. Add salt – Pour in approximately 500 g of regular table salt (any type of salt is fine—just avoid sodium-free varieties).
  3. Remove the softener cartridge – Twist the cartridge off the wall mount adapter.
  4. Attach the regeneration adapter – Secure it onto the cartridge.
  5. Insert the cartridge into the tank – Place it into the cartridge slot inside the tank.
  6. Position the pump – Submerge the water pump in the salt water and use the suction cups to keep it at the bottom of the tank.
  7. Set up the drain – Direct the small outlet tube from the regeneration adapter toward a suitable drain (e.g., kitchen sink, shower drain, or a bucket).
  8. Start regeneration – Plug the pump into a power source (such as a power bank or wall socket) to begin the regeneration process.

Note: power bank and USB socket adapter are not included.

How to install your Hera Aqua

Most customers are up and running in under 15 minutes.

Step 1 — Clean the wall surface

Clean the wall surface

Wipe the area with a dry, dust-free cloth. A clean surface ensures the adhesive hooks bond securely.

Step 2 — Stick the adhesive hooks

Stick the adhesive hooks

Position the hooks on the wall, leaving enough space for the hose to reach the softener without sharp bends. Press firmly to remove any air bubbles.

Step 3 — Connect the softener hose

Connect the softener hose

Attach the softener hose to the left side of the wall mount adapter. This hose supplies water into the softener.

Step 4 — Connect the shower hose

Connect the shower hose

Attach the shower hose to the right side of the wall mount adapter. This carries softened water out of the softener.

Step 5 — Connect to water source

Connect to the water source

Connect the other end of the softener hose to your water source.

Step 6 — Attach the softener

Attach the softener

Twist the wall mount adapter into the softener cartridge until secure.

Step 7 — Hang the softener

Hang the softener

Hang the softener unit onto the adhesive hooks on the wall.

Step 8 — Attach the cover

Attach the cover

Clip the cover into place to complete your installation. That's it — you're ready to go.

Proven results

Does it actually work?

Yes — and you don't have to take our word for it.

Hera Aqua uses ion exchange technology to actively remove calcium and magnesium ions — the minerals that make water hard — directly at your shower.

Most shower filters only reduce chlorine. They don't touch calcium or magnesium, which means your skin and hair are still exposed to the full effects of hard water. Hera Aqua is a true softener — you can verify this yourself with water hardness test strips.

Not sure about the difference? Read our guide: Shower Filter vs Water Softener →

Water hardness is measured in mg/L. Soft water reads below 50 mg/L. Most of London, the South East, East Anglia, and the Midlands measures between 250–425 mg/L — very hard. The before and after below are from a real customer in a hard water area.

Water hardness varies by location.

Very hard water — 250–425 mg/L
After

Soft water — below 50 mg/L
